Lauren is an incredible bridal hair dresser. She did my wedding recently - myself, 4 bridesmaids and 2 flower girls. Our hair was incredibly beautiful and lasted all day even though we were never off the dance floor! She is a perfectionist and we all felt at our absolute best and that she really listened to what each of us wanted. And she is just so lovely and definately helped calm some of my wedding nerves. Lauren did a fantastic job of mine and my bridesmaids hair for my wedding. I was initially really nervous about how my hair would look given that it's really fine and thin but I went for a trial with Lauren and she was so understanding and made me feel completely at ease and I was amazed at how she made it look so thick! On the actual day it all went completely to plan and I felt really confident and got so many compliments. My bridesmaids loved theirs too and we got through to the end of the day with it still looking great. Lauren is so lovely and made everyone feel relaxed. Would highly recomend.

I am so glad that I asked Lauren to do my hair for my wedding. She put me at ease during the trial and was able to create a brilliant style based on the pictures and description that I gave her. She came across as very professional and dedicated to creating the best look for the bride. On the wedding day she clearly wanted to make sure I looked my best and took care to perfect even the smallest details. My hair looked great and lasted all day. Lauren styled my mum's hair, which looked the best it has ever looked. My mum said she would even travel to York to get Lauren to style her hair for future events. My sister had said she would do her own hair for the wedding but was having some problems and so Lauren also fixed her hair, with very short notice. I would definately recommend Lauren to help you look great on your special day.

I met Lauren at a wedding fayre and immediately felt at ease. She is friendly , down to earth yet absolutely professional and great at her job !We arranged a trial prior to my wedding and discussed my options . She cut and coloured my hair prior to the wedding also. She was patient , listened and gave her professional opinion to which I was grateful.

Lauren McRae gave me the hair of my dreams on my wedding day. I came to her with four photos, picking out small details from each and asking if she could make them into one hair style, and she certainly did! I had spoken to other hair stylists prior to meeting with Lauren, and they said I would need hair extensions, to use this fancy (very expensive) shampoo and conditioner, oh and not to forget the oil, drops, another haircut, colour and three trials... my hair would of ended up costing more than my dress!! No, Lauren made me look beautiful with my own hair, as damaged as it may be! I cannot fault her skills, she took time with my trial, really listened to my options and ideas, made me feel welcome and beautiful, and above all gave me exactly what I dreamed of. On the day she was wonderful, she worked quickly but flawlessly with all my bridesmaids and maid of honour, who she had not met before. She became a part of the bridal party and everyone loved her. Right before we went down for the ceremony, she had us all back in the chair to make her final touches, such as twisting a curl, adding some spray, popping another pin in... like a true perfectionist! She is actually what you want on your wedding day!

Lauren styled mine and my bridesmaids hair for my wedding in August and she was AMAZING!! So talented and we all absolutely loved our hair. Brilliant communication the whole way leading up to the wedding. She made us all feel so comfortable and relaxed with her kind, friendly nature and listened to exactly what I visioned for my wedding hair at the hair trials. My hair was even better than I had imagined it!! Lauren genuinely cared about making sure everything was perfect for us on our special day. When I got married, Lauren styled my hair, as well as my mum's and sister's. She discussed styles/hair accessories with me beforehand, and we did a couple of trial sessions to make sure we got it spot on on the day! She listened really carefully to what I was aiming for, made suggestions, and adapted ideas to suit my particular hair type. She was lovely and calming on the day, and made sure she got us all ready in good time! My hair stayed put really well all day, and I felt comfortable and like 'me'. Lauren was recommended to me by my own hairdresser who ironically carries out a great cut but didn’t want the responsibility of creating my wedding style."She’ll sort it” he said without hesitation or doubt, very confidently, “Lauren has been doing hair for years, she works for herself and has her own room.” Various emails later we arranged a hair practise which I was able to attend one evening to fit around my work shifts.
I must admit I was a little intrigued about Lauren's premises. I took my Mum and Sister for their opinions but also so that we could discuss their requirements aswell. When we arrived we were greated with a friendly welcome and ushered upstairs. Lauren has her own room which is professionally arranged and fully equipped just like a salon.
Lauren is very chatty and down to earth, because of that you instantly feel relaxed in her company. Even though we had never met before, conversation soon flowed, we had some common ground, realised there were a few coincidences and we also knew some of the same people. We were with Lauren about 2 1/2 hours and time soon passed. We didn't feel rushed and appreciated Lauren giving up her time (especially as one of her children were poorly!)
I didn't have much of an idea when it came to what hair style I wanted but I gave Lauren a few vague indications. I knew I definately wanted a look that wouldn't make my ears stick out! Lauren tried quite a few variations of style, we took photos during the practise to review what she had done. I was then able to feedback what I liked and she was then able to make a few tweaks to get the desired look. After the practise I felt so relieved, nothing seemed a problem and I had every faith in Lauren to do a brilliant job on the day.
On the wedding morning itself I woke surprisingly clam, one of the reasons for this was that I knew we had Lauren and Clare who are both extremely experienced creating our hair and make up. Both my bridesmaids have short hair so I wondered how Lauren was going to do something different with their hair. It was quite a simple but effective style, clipped back, it looked volumised with a lovely shape which really showed off their faces. I've not got the longest hair either but I grew mine as much as I could. Lauren made it look so big and full (without an extension in sight!). She did such a fabulous job, I was highly delighted with her work, it stayed in and secure all day. After the wedding I felt sad I had to take it out!
I would thoroughly recommend Lauren McRae to anyone who is wanting a local, creative hair stylist for any occasion, especially as I have been 100 percent satisfied using her to do our wedding hair. I will definately contact her again should I need to use her talent in the future.

Lauren was fantastic on my wedding day. With her bubbly, friendly personality and lovely smile we all felt very at ease and comfortable in her presence. I'd had a practice run on what i wanted a few months before and she'd remembered and did it even better on the day. I can't recommend Lauren enough for wedding hair. She was fantastic straight away at my wedding trail, thorough in going through all the minor details which reasurred me. On my wedding day she was so patient and attentive, along with creative in how she could see just how to improve the look for my perfect day. She did my bridesmaids hair and the girls still talk now about how good it was, how well it lasted and how well she listened to each and everyone of us with all our individual needs. Lauren is creative, patient and very talented at what she can do and I would recommend her to anyone wanting the perfect hair for their perfect day.
